Join NYCOSH in the fight for safe and healthful working conditions

All NYCOSH members receive:

  • Safety Rep, the quarterly NYCOSH newsletter, featuring reports on activity in occupational safety and health and analysis of current trends,
  • The NYCOSH Clipping File, including articles from newspapers, magazines, professional journals and union publications,
  • Updates about pending legislation affecting the health and safety of workers in New York State and elsewhere,
  • Invitations to NYCOSH conferences, lectures and forums. Topics addressed at recent NYCOSH events include repetitive strain injuries and the draft OSHA Ergonomics Standard, workers' compensation law and safer needles,
  • Access to the NYCOSH Resource Center, a library of thousands of reference books, reports, professional publications and other health and safety documents,
  • A chance to participate on NYCOSH Committees -- groups of health and safety activists working together for change in specific areas, such as workers' compensation and infectious disease.

NYCOSH also offers all local union members:

  • Health and safety training on topics of particular concern to workers, including computer hazards, state and federal Right-to-Know laws and regulations, and methods for identifying toxic substances such as asbestos.
  • Technical assistance and information for health and safety committees, union leaders and stewards and a health and safety Hotline for problems that require immediate answers.
  • Consultations and on-site evaluations to help solve unique problems and to help develop strategies for winning important health and safety victories -- including formation of health and safety committees.
  • Contract language assistance drafting health and safety language for upcoming collective bargaining agreements.
